  • AI-generated translation refers to the process of using artificial intelligence, particularly machine learning models, to automatically translate text or speech from one language to another. These systems, such as neural machine translation models, analyze large datasets of multilingual content to learn patterns and associations between languages. The generated translations are based on statistical probabilities and context learned during training.
The new Terreno Pro Range promises sustainability all around – for racers, grinders, and Sunday heroes. Additionally, we were already able to put the Terreno PRO T50 Mixed Gravel Race tire to the test over the summer.11.11.25 07:54 331

With the new Terreno Pro Series, Vittoria has given its gravel portfolio a technical and sustainable update. The tires feature a lighter, finer cotton casing, a new, softer rubber compound, and a construction made of 92% recycled or renewable materials – manufactured in a CO₂-neutral factory. According to the manufacturer, this is not only good for the conscience but also for performance: +5% more speed, +19% more grip, +18% more puncture protection, and +3% more comfort compared to the well-known Endurance Series (see our review of the Terreno T50 Mixed).

Does all this sound a bit ambitious? To be honest, we were initially skeptical too. But after our intensive long-term review, we can say: The difference is noticeable – especially the smooth, gentle ride and the surprisingly high grip on varying terrain stand out positively. One of those rare surprises where theory and practice actually align.

The difference is noticeable, and how!

"Gravel Race" construction

Detailansicht

The Gravel Race Line is Vittoria's high-end platform for ambitious gravel racers, combining maximum performance with a clear focus on sustainability. It consists of a multi-layer casing made from organic cotton, which provides an exceptionally smooth ride while also reducing environmental impact.

The casing is reinforced with a layer of Seawastex: recycled nylon obtained from old fishing nets, which enhances sidewall stability and provides protection against punctures. An additional anti-puncture layer specifically protects against punctures in the tread area. On the outside, the Eco Race Compound rubber mix ensures excellent grip and high speed. The casing construction is rounded off with a natural latex coating, which increases flexibility and seals the tire without the use of chemicals.

The result is a race-oriented, tubeless-ready folding tire that, according to Vittoria, is not only faster but also more robust and environmentally friendly than the competition.

Performance Comparison: Race vs. Endurance Design

Detailansicht

In direct comparison to Vittoria's Endurance category, the Gravel Race construction offers measurable performance gains in nearly all disciplines - without compromising sustainability. Lab tests (e.g., Terreno Pro T30 vs. Terreno T30 Endurance) show:

+5% more speed
+19% more grip
+18% higher puncture resistance
+3% better riding comfort
-12% durability

These advantages and disadvantages result from the lighter, more flexible casing, the grippier rubber compound, and the optimized damping. While the Endurance version is designed for durability and all-around protection during long adventures, the Race construction targets maximum performance in tough, fast races - ideal for gravel racers looking to save every watt.

The only real compromise lies in durability. The Endurance casing lasts on average about 1,000 km longer; however, with the Race variant, you can save up to 18 minutes in a 200 km race (e.g., in events like the Unbound 200).

+5% more speed as well as +19% more grip.

Sustainability

Detailansicht

Made from 92% renewable and recycled materials, the Gravel Race models significantly reduce the ecological footprint – according to Vittoria, by up to 50% CO₂ compared to the Endurance category. Instead of relying on fossil raw materials, Vittoria uses Fair Rubber-certified natural rubber, soybean oil to improve durability, and silica from rice husks, a by-product of agriculture.

The sidewalls are made from Seawastex, a recycled nylon material sourced from old fishing nets. Production takes place in a CarbonNeutral-certified factory in Thailand, which is powered 100% by renewable energy – completely without natural gas. Even unavoidable emissions are offset through certified CO₂ compensation. In short: With the Gravel Race line, Vittoria shows that high performance and environmental consciousness do not have to be mutually exclusive.

Terreno PRO T10 - Hardpack: Your go-to tire for smooth, fast, and predominantly dry gravel or hardpack routes with a lot of asphalt. With its smooth slick center tread, it rolls ultra-fast but still offers grip in corners and wet conditions thanks to its fish-scale shoulders. Ideal for fast races with minimal rolling resistance.

Terreno PRO T30 - Fine Loose: Perfect for dry, loose gravel tracks with a fine surface. The fish-scale center tread reduces rolling resistance, while the pronounced side knobs ensure controlled cornering. This is the tire for those who want to fly over dust instead of slipping on it.

Terreno PRO T50 - Mixed: The all-rounder for everything between hardpack and coarser gravel, and our test tire. Its versatile center tread, stable shoulders, and good traction make it a reliable choice for mixed conditions—whether for training rides or racing.

Terreno PRO T60 - Mixed: For challenging mixed terrain with varying ground conditions, bordering on "coarse loose." The thoughtfully designed V-shaped tread and evenly distributed knobs provide control and grip, even when things get rough. If you want to ride just one tire and play it safe, choose this one.

TLR Workshop: Removal of old tires including Air-Liner Light Gravel + Installation of the Terreno PRO

For our last long-term test of Vittoria tires, we mounted the Terreno T50 Mixed Endurance in 45C, combined with the Air-Liner Light Gravel inserts, on our trusted DT Swiss GRC 1100 wheels from 2019 (internal width: 24 mm). While the installation of the Air-Liner back then was still achievable with standard tire levers and a good portion of willpower, the removal was significantly less heroic – it was simply impossible.

We were all the more grateful that Vittoria provided two useful tools:

#1 Air-Liner Tool Kit (for MTB)
A robust plastic plier that makes snapping the tire bead into place easier – and is especially invaluable for removal.

#2 Universal Tire Levers
True game-changers: One side effortlessly unhooks the tire from the rim, while the other end helps with precise mounting. Thanks to the beveled shape, the bead slides into the rim channel much more easily and with significantly less swearing.

Disassembly

Without the plastic pliers and the extremely sturdy tire levers, we would have failed.

  • Vittoria Terreno PRO Gravel Series 2026

Assembly

The installation of the Terreno Pro T50 (this time without Air-Liner Light) was significantly more relaxed: No special tools needed, no excessive force required. For comfort reasons, we still used the Vittoria Universal Tire Levers, which quickly became indispensable thanks to their robust design and grippy texture. Particularly practical: One side is perfect for lifting the tire bead over the rim flange, while the other reliably helps with the final insertion of the bead – no slipping, no cursing.

With a bit of soapy water, the tire seated cleanly into the flanges at minimal pressure (without a compressor) and immediately ran true, with no leaks. As usual, some sealant was still added to the system. In the end, the 60 ml per tire were not going to be a limiting factor.

In practice

The tires not only look different but really good, thanks to the cotton casing and the recycled base materials without carbon black additives (hence the unique color). Inflated to 2.0 bar at the front and 2.5 bar at the rear, I headed straight out for the first ride. After just two off-road kilometers, there was the first unplanned stop. For me, it was clear: "WTF, already the first flat!?" But the pressure check showed no air loss. The Clik tester also confirmed: 2.0 bar at the front, 2.5 bar at the rear. Strange...

A few kilometers later, during the next rough off-road massacre, the same game again. Stopped just to be safe, checked, once more a false alarm. Slowly, it dawned on me: The tire simply rides so smoothly that it feels like you're about to bottom out on the rim horns – without actually doing so. Pure souplesse. The cotton casing, as you know it from fine Italian road tires, delivers an "elegant" riding sensation that is rarely experienced in the gravel sector. Once I accepted it, this exact feeling brought me an astonishing amount of joy.

Defects? None. And that’s without an air liner. According to Vittoria, the naturally high TPI count ensures that the fabric is very dense and thus provides optimal protection against punctures. What remains is limitless grip, a quiet, smooth rolling behavior, and yet noticeably higher speed (Vittoria claims around 5 percent) compared to the Endurance version.

The topic of sustainability was honestly pretty irrelevant to me when it came to tire grip. But hey, if the overall package works this well, I’m happy to take the good conscience along with it. Even the special color scheme visually reflects this eco-friendly claim.

In short: Faster, elegant, sustainable – and surprisingly confident on any terrain.

  • Vittoria Terreno PRO Gravel Series 2026

There are still some points of criticism. Besides the steep price, I personally found the slightly higher weight compared to the Endurance variant to be a bit sobering. The Terreno PRO T50 weighs about 50 grams more than its counterpart from the Endurance line. This corresponds almost exactly to the weight added by an Air-Liner Light Gravel.

If you want to rationalize it, you could say: Thanks to the 18 percent higher puncture protection, you can forgo the 59.95 Euro Air-Liner. And with this back-of-the-envelope calculation, the Terreno PRO suddenly only costs around 30 Euros - including easy installation without special tools, the same overall weight as the Endurance with Air-Liner, but with more speed, more grip, and better riding comfort.

But honestly: Most buyers won’t care about the extra weight, because the ride feel is top-notch, the grip is excellent, and the awesome beige color is absolutely priceless.

 Suppleness in its purest form.

BB Verdict: The Terreno PRO combines performance, style, and responsibility.

The new Vittoria Terreno PRO Series offers a welcome mix of performance and sustainability to the gravel segment. The numbers are impressive: about +5% more speed, +19% more grip, +18% higher puncture resistance, and +3% more comfort compared to the Endurance variant. In practice, this is confirmed: The smooth, quiet ride combined with surprisingly high grip on varied terrain proves that these are not just technical specs on paper.

A cotton casing, recycled nylon, and a rubber compound free of carbon black additives underline the sustainability claim. The range of use spans from fast hardpack to mixed terrain, making this tire a true all-rounder for ambitious gravel riders.

However, the price is quite ambitious, and the extra 50 g compared to the Endurance version is at least noticeable on paper. That said, anyone who experiences the plush ride feel, smoothness, and grip will likely forget about the additional weight and cost quickly.

In short: If you're looking for a tire that doesn’t just greenwash but truly delivers, then the Terreno PRO is the right choice.
