With a complete and exceptionally extensive SX product line, KTM complements its E-Bike range in 2024. The rest of the line-up remains, apart from the frame colors and various equipment details, essentially unchanged.
Macina SX
In terms of lightness and agility, KTM is hoping for revolutionary results from Bosch's Performance Line SX. They combine the new motor with sleek frames made of carbon or aluminum and their already proven Power Tube Top Loader, in short PTTL, for user-friendly battery removal from the top.
Translated to the portfolio of the Mattighofen-based company, which has so far almost exclusively relied on the products of the market leader for e-bike drives, this means: In the sector of e-road and e-gravel bikes, they now want to be taken seriously as well and mix in just as earnestly as in the area of light e-trekking bikes. Furthermore, the 4-kilo system also gives the two children's e-bikes a new lightness of being. And last but not least, the Upper Austrians are opening up the sportive MTB sector with full or front suspension "Macinas" for the first time via SX motorization. Until now, this segment at KTM has been interpreted more as tour to downhill-oriented.
Macina Scarp SX
The name Scarp is synonymous with a race full-suspension bike at KTM. Now, thanks to the Bosch SX motor, the carbon top athlete is also available as a light E-MTB. However, with 140 mm of travel, it is significantly more fun-oriented than the non-motorized XC and marathon counterpart.
There will be three equipment packages ranging from €6,299 to €11,099. The top-of-the-line Exonic model comes with, among other things, Sram's XX Transmission gearing, Fox suspension (34 Float Factory and Float Factory), and Shimano XTR brakes, weighing in at 16.5 kg. The entry-level "Master" will weigh about two kilos more.
Macina Race SX
The hardtail platform also includes three equipment variants, which combine a lightweight aluminum frame with 100 mm suspension forks. The trio is designed for the sporty entry-level e-MTB segment.
The mid-priced model at 3,499 euros (Race SX 20: €3,299,- / Race SX 10: €3,699,-) comes with lights, mudguards, and a luggage rack (accordingly called LFC for Light, Fender, Carrier), which of course increases the weight: 21.8 kg.
Macina Revelator SX
Soft and natural assistance, exactly when it's needed: on the hill, against strong headwinds, or simply when the legs are tired. For this scenario, a motor light enough not to be intrusive elsewhere seemed perfect to KTM. Which is why they are now venturing into the motorized road bike segment with the Macina Revelator SX, currently only available in the Prime version costing 7,899 euros.
Its carbon frame has an aerodynamic design approach, with cables routed through the headset and an integrated seat clamp. The Classified hub, combined with a Shimano 105 Di2, additionally provides a wide range of gear ratios. Weight: 13.4 kg.
Macina Gravelator SX
Available in aluminum (SX 10, €4,299) or carbon (SX Prime, €5,899), KTM introduces their first-ever E-Gravel bikes. With cables routed through the headset and an integrated seat clamp collar, the Gravelator has a very tidy appearance. A maximum tire clearance of 45 mm is designed to provide versatile application possibilities.
The (provisional) top model shifts with SRAM's Rival eTap AXS and is expected to weigh 13.9 kg. The more affordable package, equipped with Shimano's GRX, tips the scale at 15.6 kg.
Macina Cross SX/Sport SX
The six available trekking bikes also present a choice of materials. For the first time, carbon is introduced into KTM's E-Cross segment. But that's not all, all frames are also optionally available with a lower top tube, and most also with a comfort entry. This makes a total of 16 possible variants of a platform that is designed for (everyday) use as well as for long tours, and is priced between 3,299 and 8,199 euros.
Macina Mini Me SX
2015 saw the debut and polarizing KTM children's E-MTB. By now, the Mini Me is highly socially acceptable.
In its latest iteration, the aluminum bike available with 24 or 26" wheel sizes (€3,099/€3,199) and an 80 mm suspension fork benefits from the significantly lighter and more compact SX motor, and combines it with the 400 Wh long-lasting CompactTube - however, it is fixed in place and not removable, as with all other SX bikes from Mattighofen. This allowed for the hydroformed down tube to be made even lighter. The total packages weigh just under 17 kg.
Add-ons
Additionally, KTM also provides clever solutions for accessories: The Sport Trunk Bag saddlebag and the Battery Board for backpacks have been specifically developed for storing a potential second battery.
And Bosch's Range Extender can be attached directly to the battery cover of all KTM SX models. The position of the charging socket has been adjusted accordingly. An integrated lock also protects against battery theft.
