  • AI generated translation
  • AI-generated translation refers to the process of using artificial intelligence, particularly machine learning models, to automatically translate text or speech from one language to another. These systems, such as neural machine translation models, analyze large datasets of multilingual content to learn patterns and associations between languages. The generated translations are based on statistical probabilities and context learned during training.

As part of the KTM Mountainbike Challenge, the traditional Bike-Opening took place on the first weekend of July on the stage of Graz's local mountain, Schöckl.
114 bikers, ranging from regional bike legends to ladies of the best age, tackled the legendary Schöckl trails on Saturday, July 5th, as an appetizer for the traditional Kaiserschmarren at the Alpengasthof on Schöckl. The following day, nearly a hundred young riders rocked the newly built trails in the Forstwald.

Day 1: Schöckl Summit Storm

On two routes, the endurance riders among the mountain bikers conquered the mountainous monument in the north of the Styrian capital during the 10th Schöckl Summit Storm: Either short and sharp on a direct path – a "small" 14 kilometers with a solid 1,050 meters of elevation gain. Or in two loops, with the first leading to the Rannach. This route, which counts towards the Classic category of the marathon series, measured 41 km and 2,050 meters of elevation gain.
In perfect weather, the brave summit stormers enjoyed the best tracks in Styria followed by the best "Schmarren" (a traditional Austrian dish) in the world – the best atmosphere was therefore guaranteed. For the fastest riders, there were also the coveted, handmade trophies crafted from original Schöckl limestone.
Particularly noteworthy, besides the overall Classic winners Jakob Reiter and Nina Mosser: the quadruple victory of the Stattegg ladies of the best age on the Small route, led by Olivia Robin. Overall, Lukas Simoner and Tina Berger-Schauer dominated the short distance.

Day 2: Junior Challenge

With a premiere, the children's races of the Challenge series awaited on Sunday, July 6th: For the first time, the freshly built track in the Stattegg Forest was taken on as part of the Junior Challenge – though only by the older kids among the 97 participants ranging from U7 to U17, as age-appropriate courses that challenge but do not overwhelm the youngsters are the cornerstone for the experienced talent developers of the Bikeclub Giant Stattegg.
And the new course seemed to be a hit and passed its trial by fire with flying colors, as the sound of children's laughter and cheers filled the dusty-hot Höllbach Arena, where the route went downhill, uphill, winding, straight, and then selectively into the forest depending on the age group. Drops from ramps, over tree trunks, slalom through the forest, or steep turns in the hollow path – the track menu seems perfectly prepared for the Junior Worlds Festival starting on July 8th!

The young guns of the U5 category, on the other hand, faced a course race at the Stattegg village square. This event is the annual highlight of the Junior Challenge and reliably puts a smile on the faces of moms, dads, grandmas, and grandpas.

From 8th July: Junior World Festival

With this successful dress rehearsal behind them, everyone is now eagerly awaiting the premiere of the Junior Festival from July 8 to 12, during which BC Stattegg is once again reinventing mountain biking.
Five races on four courses are scheduled, open exclusively to 17- to 18-year-olds who, over the course of five days, will crown the world's best of the best in various cross-country competitions, including a team relay. Eleven nations, from Turkey to Denmark, will take part at the start, kicking off on July 8 with a C3-category XC race on the very same course—incidentally, perfectly visible to the audience—that was just inaugurated by the Challenge racers.
Bikeboard will, of course, report on the event afterward – stay tuned!
