DT Swiss FR 1500 Classic

The heart of the just-launched wheelset is a new rim profile of the aluminum rim with a 30 mm internal width, which is designed not only to increase impact resistance but also to reduce weight and susceptibility to punctures at the same time. According to the manufacturer, the new shape of the sidewall results in up to 17% lower puncture susceptibility compared to the rim of the previous Gravity wheelset FR 1950.
Developed without neglecting load distribution in extreme situations, the new version of the FR 1500 is equipped with 28 double-butted spokes at the front and 32 at the rear wheel. Overall, the wheelset is supposed to save 7% weight compared to the FR 1950, starting at 1,928 g for the set.

The hub used is the proven 240 with Ratchet EXP 36T freehub system and 6-bolt rotor mounting. The spokes are from the DT Competition series inventory. The maximum system weight is 140 kg.

The FR 1500 Classic is available in a variety of standards. When it comes to wheel size, you can choose between 29", 27.5" or Mixed. As for the axle system, the options for the front wheel are 15 x 110 Boost and 20 x 110 Boost, and for the rear wheel, 12 x 148 Boost, 12 x 150, or 12 x 157 mm are on the menu. The Boost variant can be ordered with Sram XD or Shimano Micro Spline, while the wider hub version can come with Sram XD or Shimano HG freehub bodies.
