Since 2016, Abus has been manufacturing the models GameChanger, AirBreaker, StormChaser, and PowerDome in Italy, about an hour's drive from Venice. All of them are performance helmets that meet complex safety requirements and high demands on aesthetics and weight.
A significant contribution to the development of these helmets is provided by professional teams, top athletes, and former competitive athletes with their wealth of knowledge and experience.
ABUS HELMETS MADE IN ITALY
GameChanger 2.0, AirBreaker, StormChaser, and PowerDomeGamechanger 2.0 Aero Helmet
Maximum aerodynamics, improved ventilation, and individual design. The Gamechanger 2.0 or Gamechanger 2.0 MIPS is the ultimate aero helmet for professionals, triathletes, and ambitious athletes in the battle for every watt and every second.
Its predecessor was already known as a specialist in terms of aerodynamics and at the time established the performance helmet category for Abus. Now, in close coordination with Movistar professionals, the second generation of the GameChanger has been developed - with the aim of optimizing it and outsmarting the wind even more.
Aerodynamics
To meet the latest aero requirements, the GameChanger 2.0 received newly designed ventilation channels and a wider trailing edge. This means that the helmet's aero profile is 11% longer and is supposed to offer decisive aerodynamic advantages at racing speeds between 46 and 52 km/h. In addition, the tail in the lower trailing edge has been extended further downwards by 8 degrees, which also optimizes the posture in the drop bar position, with the head tucked and pointed downwards. This has also been confirmed by extensive testing in the wind tunnel and on the track.
Ventilation
Thanks to the new, improved aerodynamics, the front inlets ("Airboost Front-Inlet" and "Eyebrow Vents Forehead Ventilation") allow up to 32% more airflow into the interior of the GameChanger 2.0, according to the manufacturer. The horizontal struts ("Acti Cage") guide the airflow into the helmet at higher speeds and ensure consistently good ventilation. With their shark fin shape, they act like a closed surface in the racing position, thus aerodynamically directing the remaining airflow, not used for ventilation, over the head. The specially shaped "Eyewear Ports" at the front and the "Airport Vents" at the rear are compatible with regularly curved sports glasses temples.
To prevent air congestion, the so-called "Airflow Star Design" also allows for a 20% higher air outlet. Special importance is given to the revised, wider rear diffuser with its enlarged air outlets and the optimized airflow through the revised air channels inside the helmet. At the same time, the pressure and suction of the incoming and outgoing air (Venturi effect) are intended to provide an almost perfect temperature and help the rider to more concentration and performance even at top speed.

Comfort
The new strap system with the 12 mm wide "Flow Straps Pro" in the rear strap area, a likewise widened V-shape of the straps, and the central "Zoom Pro" adjustment system keep the GameChanger 2.0 in the optimal position.
Safety
With the GameChanger 2.0, the "MIPS Air Node" system is introduced into the realm of performance aero helmets. In addition, the MIPS versions feature the "Fidlock-Buckle," an intuitively easy-to-use helmet buckle.
All GameChanger 2.0 helmets are also QUIN ready, meaning they are prepared for the use of QUIN Crash Detection Technology. This makes the new helmet an additional safety contribution, especially on solitary training rides. The QUIN port for charging the sensor is accessible from inside the helmet - in the form of a micro-USB connection.
The GameChanger 2.0 is offered in two versions, a total of eleven different colors, and three sizes (S, M, L). The weight is 260 g (S), 265 g (M), and 275 g (L).

The new Abus HiDrop is already the second full-face helmet from the German safety experts and, with its downhill certification, is designed to offer the highest possible protection to both professionals and ambitious riders.
Tom Isted also wore a pre-production helmet during his world record jump, a 120-foot (36.6 meter) backflip, at the Darkfest in South Africa.
Maximum Protection
A robust ABS shell encases the core, which is made of shock-absorbing EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) as well as somewhat more elastic EPP (Expanded Polypropylene).
The visor is securely installed and allows for the stable mounting of an action camera, but will detach in the event of a hard fall. With the proven double D-lock closure, the helmet always sits securely on the rider's head.
Optimal Ventilation and Fit
Cleverly positioned air intakes in the forehead area and on the chin guard, in combination with generous air outlets at the back, are intended to ensure adequate ventilation even on uphill sections. The fresh air is directed straight onto the inner lining, efficiently cooling it. Moreover, the air inlets and outlets are additionally secured with nets.
Padding in the neck area of the helmet provides extra comfort and ensures that the helmet fits snugly around the head. The fit can be individually adjusted with the removable and washable cheek pads.
The weight of the Abus HiDrop is absolutely competitive in this helmet category at 1,050 grams for size Medium. It comes in four sizes (S, M, L, XL), four colors (shiny white, shiny black, midnight blue, moss green) and costs 199.95 euros. A practical bag is also included in the delivery.

Granite Super Extreme 2500 U-lock
A U-lock of superlatives. Through the use of tungsten carbide, the Granit Super Extreme 2500 even stands up to an angle grinder.
Extraordinary times, in which the prices of e-bikes or cargo bikes are approaching five-figure sums, require extraordinary measures. Not every bike can be parked in a secure basement compartment or within one's own four walls; instead, many are left unattended outdoors - often overnight. These high profit prospects naturally also attract thieves who are no longer deterred by the use of a mobile angle grinder.
For this reason, Abus developed a U-lock that can withstand an angle grinder with a diamond cutting disc - or at least requires a disproportionately large amount of time to break. The basis was the "Made in Germany" U-lock Granit X-Plus 540, which has been proven over the years and was refined in an intensive development process by using a special tungsten carbide material. The "hardest material in the world" was used especially for the reinforced 13 mm thick parabolic shackle and the lock body, and is intended to stand up to the grinder. The surfaces have been finished in such a way that the grinding disc visibly despairs and wears down significantly, necessitating several disc changes. Abus speaks of up to ten minutes and 2-4 Black discs per shackle.
The new flagship in the Abus U-lock segment features an XPlus cylinder that is One Key-Ready and can be synchronized with other locks, allowing all associated locks to be operated with just one key.
The user-friendliness of the lock is also evident in its size, with a length of 230 millimeters. With its shackle size, the Granit Super Extreme 2500 is not only suitable as an anti-theft device; the bike can be secured to a fixed object to prevent it from being taken away. The newly developed USH 2500 holder solution supports the concept of comfort and offers flexible mounting options on the luggage carrier and the rear frame of the bike.
The Granit Super Extreme 2500 will be available in specialist stores from autumn 2023.
WBA 65 Wall Mount
Simple to install, space-saving, and secure. Many thefts within one's own home occur in the garage or basement. Those who want to store their bike at home both securely and aesthetically will find the ideal theft protection in the Abus WBA 65, a wall mount with an integrated wall anchor.
In this setup, a pedal is hooked into the wall anchor and the rear wheel is placed on the provided holder without dirtying the wall. In this way, your favorite piece hangs on the wall like a piece of art and can be secured with all types of Abus locks: U-locks or folding locks, chains, or armored cables. Depending on your needs, the personal favorite can be freely chosen.
The included mounting material ensures a firm anchoring and guarantees maximum hold. The mounting screws are sealed after installation and are thus protected against unauthorized access.
6950M Frame Lock
Comfortable and always with you. The universal Abus 6950M Frame Lock fits most bicycle frames and acts as a practical immobilizer. Specially hardened steel provides increased security at critical components such as the shackle, the lock casing, and parts of the locking mechanism.
Permanently mounted on the bicycle frame, the frame lock accompanies the bike owner on all tours through the city and countryside. Thanks to a universally adjustable hole spacing, the locking shackle is intended to be attachable to all standard bicycle frames. Its XPlus cylinder offers high protection against tampering attempts such as picking and is furthermore One Key-Ready, allowing it to be synchronized with other locks.
In the R version of the 6950M, the key remains in the cylinder even when the frame lock is open; in the NR version, it can be removed.
