Preview: Argus Bike Festival 2025

For over 25 years, the large Argus Bike Festival has taken place right on time for the start of the spring season at Vienna's Rathausplatz. And this year, it will happen again on April 12th and 13th – conveniently just before Easter, keyword gift ideas.
Exhibitors from all thematic areas, cycling fans of all disciplines, and curious visitors of all ages transform the area in the heart of the federal capital, as well as the square opposite the Burgtheater, into a bicycle arena unlike any other on this weekend. No event showcases our beloved hobby in a more multifaceted way, no gathering offers a broader range of action, and no test opportunity provides a more comprehensive pool of e-bikes and cargo bikes. All the more so, as the organizing team is once again bringing fresh energy and exciting new program highlights alongside the tried-and-true classics in 2025.

Proving to be highly successful in its debut last year, the E-Mountainbike Arena will once again enrich the festival this year with its combination of wooden grandstands, ramps, drops, and a surrounding obstacle course.
The arena will host shows as well as workshops where the latest E-MTBs can be tested in their "natural habitat." Both will be led by Bosch brand ambassador Stefan Schlie, who, thanks to his trials background, can expertly demonstrate what is possible with modern bikes of this kind.
Furthermore, the E-Mountainbike Arena will once again be the venue for the Kids Bike Trophy. Whether on a balance bike or a regular bike, the course is perfectly suited for all motivated young talents. The event is organized by Cycling Austria, and pre-registration is available at www.kidsbiketrophy.at.

Brand new this year is the Bike Pop-Up Arena, featuring a colorful mix of niche topics that will take center stage in the middle of the venue: High-wheel bike show and folding bike contest, bike painting with the acrobatic bike, bike polo demonstrations, as well as BMX world champion Viki Gomez with his legendary Bike n’ Mic show.
The Spaniard not only showcases his skills but also shares them, explaining his tricks and passing on his enthusiasm to the next generation, who will have the chance to learn from the grandmaster of fast spins during his workshops.

So freshly designed and arranged thanks to this new space is the entire exhibition area, yet some classics remain steadfast: The young ones can let off steam in the Children's Cycling World located next to the Burgtheater. The proven E-bike test track right next to the town hall this year also includes the cargo bike course. Lovers of vintage bicycles and bargain hunters will get their money's worth at the flea market in the historical corner. The free cycling map will once again be distributed in its latest version at the Fahrrad Wien stand, and overall, the heart of the event, the grand cycling fair, is stronger and faster than ever in 2025.
Last but not least, the traditional Sunday bike parade will, for the first time after the redevelopment, take to Praterstraße this year. This not only provides plenty of opportunities to cheerfully wave to the 5,000 to 15,000 fellow cyclists in the counterflow section depending on the weather. The impressive bike parade through the city, closed off to car traffic, is also the perfect opportunity to officially and stylishly inaugurate the new bike highway.
