Photo Report Mr. EIT Bike Days 2025

Roland Eitler has done it again: created his own bike festival. Because, similar to how he used to handle bike videos, the content creator takes matters into his own hands when there’s nothing out there that suits his taste. That’s exactly what he did in early October 2024 at the first Mr. EIT Bike Days in Wiener Neustadt. And this past weekend, the Lower Austrian followed up.
Supported by the best wife of all and two dozen helpers from the circle of so-called Patreons (followers who pay a monthly fee for additional services and online content), the part-time community manager invited people from September 19 to 21 to the Mr. EIT Bike Days 2025 on the Reiteralm.

How can one imagine such a one-man-and-his-crew show over three days and a total of almost 25 hours of open doors (or cable cars)? “Nice,” confirmed the Pekoll Bike School. “Very well attended,” reported the Bikeboard photographer. “Sunny,” conveyed the numerous film and photo materials, and “totally cozy, relaxed.”
The inner circle is even more euphoric: “It was an amazing time,” summarized Patreon Bernd Matthießen, barely back home in Germany. And the man himself, known as a frequent or constant talker, was even a little – believe it or not – speechless in the days afterward. He needs to “process a lot of emotions and experiences” and, for now, simply sends his heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated by visiting, exhibiting, helping, enjoying, or reviewing.

The weather complied with this wish one hundred percent and was more than just favorable for the premiere on the Reiteralm. The last summer weekend of this year, which had already been announced in the media for days, certainly provided an additional incentive to travel to Styria from afar or even just from around the corner.
Even before the lift operations began at 8:45, the first visitors and test enthusiasts flocked to the area – young and old, slim and sturdy, male and female, fit and untrained. Within a very short time, the parking lot was full, and a shuttle service was implemented: A bus transported all further guests from the Pichl bathing lake in the valley to the event grounds.
By the morning, the expo was already well attended, and the line at the lift grew to a remarkable length. However, the exhibitors had brought along plenty of bikes to accommodate the numerous test requests.

And so there was a constant coming and going or riding throughout the day. Bikes were swapped, and a new trail was tackled again – sometimes on one’s own, sometimes accompanied by guides from the respective exhibitors, so that ultimately, guests and “stand operators” went on tours together more than once.
Several times, Coach Christoph from the Pekoll Bike School, powered by Bike Days supporter Endura, gathered groups of eager learners around him, who hoped for smoother descents and improved skills following his instructions.

In between, visitors could refresh themselves at the stand of the local Bankwirt with coffee and homemade cake, or with Frankfurters and various drinks. As is often the case at such trade fairs, some manufacturers also brought along an espresso machine for the connoisseurs.
Endura surprised with a cool charity campaign: For a sum that one deemed appropriate and wanted to give, the Scottish clothing specialist distributed numerous items from its sample collection to the public. In the end, an impressive €7,300 was raised, which was donated 1:1 to the Schladming Mountain Rescue.
Until 2:30 PM, there was also time to participate in the daily raffle. For the drawing, Mr. EIT needed nothing more than a beer bench to survey the scene and his sheer vocal power to address the crowd audibly. Three lucky winners could then head home with a trendy Reiteralm backpack and a well-stocked goodie bag. The most dedicated guests, who attended all three days, also had the chance to win lift tickets and accommodation vouchers.

The atmosphere was relaxed and familial – just as Roland Eitler had envisioned it: a gathering of cyclists and those aspiring to become one, who, away from all stopwatches and forced entertainment, were simply looking for the joy of togetherness and variety on the trails.

Speaking of trails: From the trail entrance or gondola exit at almost 1,800 meters above sea level, you had a full view of the entire mountain landscape of the region. The Styrian side of the highest peak in Upper Austria was prominently in sight, almost right in front of you; but peaks from other directions greeted you as far as the eye could see. To the east, a wide view into the Enns Valley completed the picture.
Nestled in this scenery – surely incredible to northern German eyes, but still quite enchanting even for locals – the Reiteralm trails offered a colorful potpourri of easy flow trails, more technically demanding natural trails, fun jump lines, and, analogous to winter sports, black-marked downhill routes.
It was precisely this diversity that prompted Roland Eitler to hold the Mr. EIT Bike Days at Reiteralm again next year – though with more gondolas, more parking spaces, more shuttles, and, above all, even more bikes.
