Last year, it was presented to the press and first revealed at the Eurobike in Frankfurt unveiled. On Bikeboard.at, one could even experience the pre-production model in a review. Now, the final Gamechanger Aero helmets made in Italy are finally available in stores and waiting to be discovered by cycling enthusiasts.
The Bikeboard editorial team recently received their test helmets and took the opportunity to keep NoSane busy with his camera. Below you will find numerous detailed impressions of the finished Aero helmet in the Bikeboard showroom.

Gamechanger 2.0 Aero Helmet
In a helmet like the Gamechanger, besides the logical safety aspect and wearing comfort, the most important thing is the best possible aerodynamics. It was important for the Abus product developers to have a wind tunnel test environment that was as realistic as possible.
After all, aerodynamically "complex" zones such as the ears, glasses, and straps, but also the angle of impact of the wind, play a crucial role. A fluttering helmet strap can nullify the aero advantage of a helmet in no time at all.
And opposed to all computational, mathematical ideals are practice-relevant issues such as wearing comfort. After all, the helmet should fit as many different head shapes as possible, have the lowest possible weight, naturally without compromising safety; furthermore, offer the best possible ventilation, easy handling, and adjustment. And in the end, the design as a whole should also look really good.

The new Gamechanger 2.0 immediately stands out due to the changed opening at the forehead (Eyebrow-Vents), which ensures even better airflow through the helmet. The channels inside the helmet have been modified to maximize ventilation. The louvre-like wings in the vertically ascending air openings ensure good ventilation in "racing position", and as soon as one switches to an Aero or Sprint position, the aerodynamics improve drastically with less ventilation.
An exciting detail is also the straps, which are sewn with a special technique to prevent fluttering or even twisting in strong headwinds.
The front of the new Gamechanger is shaped a bit more parabolically, with an unchanged overall length. The sides have been slightly raised to give more space for the glasses temples.
Another design feature is the Aeroblade. Here too, Abus tested numerous variants to arrive at the final shape.
The MIPS version comes with a Fidlock fastener, the base variant with a Nexus fastener. And both can be upgraded with the Abus crash sensor thanks to the Quin port.
Overall, the Gamechanger 2.0 is available in eleven (!) different colors.
The Making Of the ABUS Gamechanger 2.0
Made in Italy - what lies behind these three words, why helmet production in Europe is a big deal, and why the name "Gamechanger" is programmatic, is also revealed in our insider report from Bassano/ITA.
Form follows function.
CAD models, prototypes, numerous wind tunnel tests for the analysis of aerodynamics, and the feedback from professional teams ultimately determine the appearance of the final product.
